Utilizing 72” Stokes-type Vacuum Metalizing chambers, Treemen Industries has the capabilities to apply, various metalized finishes, and a protective topcoat on various substrates such as metals, aluminum die-cast and plastics, all within one cycle.
THE VACUUM METALIZING PROCESS
The vacuum metalizing process utilizes physical vapor deposition (PVD) to deposit a thin reflective film onto a substrate. Using a series of vacuum pumps, the chamber is put under vacuum where small aluminum canes are heated, melted, and vaporized. During this process, parts are rotating consistently in the chamber to provide a uniform coverage of aluminum. An in-chamber protective topcoat is then applied to protect the aluminum coating from oxidation and corrosion.
